The Jockey/Trainer combinations that are included are based on the following criteria: Included if there are at least 2 wins when riding the Wizard top-rater for the trainer, at least 3 wins when riding the race favourite, or at least 4 winners in the $2.00 to $5.90 odds range, again for the trainer. Also included are the key overall percentage stats for the jockey

Here is the list of jockeys who rode at least a double at any of the Tab meetings last week, along with the trainers for whom they rode the winners. This table is colour coded to highlight the outperformers and it is definitely worth noting these riders and combinations.

Linda Meech (born 21 August 1980) is renowned for her consistency on the Victorian racing scene. In 2025 she became the first woman in Australasia to ride 2000 winners, underlining a career that has made her a trailblazer for female riders.

Early life and racing beginnings

Linda was born in New Zealand and grew up on her familys farm at Pongaroa in the ManawatWhanganui region of the North Island. Although she was surrounded by horses, she has said she did not come from a traditional racing family, instead finding her way into the industry through her own interest and work ethic.

Her formal pathway into racing began via an equine training course in Whanganui, where she learned riding and stable skills under the guidance of respected horsewoman Janice Webster. Danielle Seib - Background and family in racing

Danielle grew up immersed in racing as the daughter of the late Muswellbrook trainer Lewis Seib, a lifelong horseman who had been a key member of the Brian MayfieldSmith stable during the era when MayfieldSmith famously broke Tommy Smiths 33year run of Sydney premierships. Danielle moved to Goulburn, completed her education degree with Honours in Science (Biology) in 2020, and combined teaching at Crookwell High School with a foreman role for leading Goulburn trainer Danny Williams while building her own team. Owners and syndicators consistently describe Danielle as a highly detailoriented horsewoman who treats each horse as an individual, tailoring work and race programs according to their mental and physical needs.   There is a lot of statistical information in my book, Betting Essentials. Over time I will update some of this information via these Daily Reports. 

  In the Trainer and Jockey chapter there are stats based on data contained in the Wizard Magic Report. The stats covered the 2024-2025 race season.

  There are many ways trainer-related data can be employed. For example, the information in Magic can be used in conjunction with Wizard ratings.

  One element of the horses data line in the Magic report highlights when a runner has been flagged in Wizard Filter and/or No-Negatives analysis. Both these indicators are directly related to trainer-ability, hence their inclusion in the Magic report.

  In addition to this trainer-related content, the Magic report also contains market information. Wizard includes the (average) odds offered by corporates on race eve and on race morning and highlights any runner that has firmed by 3% or more by around 9.30am on raceday.

  When this information is combined - Wrat 100 and F and/or N and market move - a horse is not only rated to win, but its credentials have been franked by trainer-related information and early price-takers.

   Wizard introduced the Magic report into its daily schedule on 14 September 2024. The results delivered in the 2024-2025 season under this (Wrat-F/N-odds) scenario have demonstrated the value of integrating this type of information into form analysis and selecting.

Today, the jockey in each of the five mainland states who is currently ranked fifth in the 2025-2026 metropolitan premiership, with the stats covering the past two years.

The Jockey/Trainer combinations that are included are based on the following criteria: Included if there are at least 2 wins when riding the Wizard top-rater for the trainer, or at least 3 wins when riding the race favourite, again for the trainer. Also included are the overall percentage stats for the jockey on both criteria.

Matrix day-by-day results for Friday and Saturday racing

The tables show the results for the past eight weeks for the day on which racing occurred. So, today being Friday, this Matrix DOW (Day of Week) report covers the past eight Friday and Saturday results. The day-after results are included so that they are available on race-eve, rather than only on race morning.
