Here is the list of jockeys who rode at least a double at any of the Tab meetings last week, along with the trainers for whom they rode the winners. This table is colour coded to highlight the outperformers and it is definitely worth noting these riders and combinations.

It is also worth noting when a jockey who has previously won on a horse is replacing a rider who has not done so. Whilst history shows that this is not a prime indicator of likely success, it is significant in some cases.

Australia's "winningest" trainers last week - Spotlight on Brad Widdup

Here is the list of trainers who trained at least a double at any of the Tab meetings last week, along with the jockeys for who rode the winners. This table is colour coded to highlight the outperformers and it is worth noting these stables and the combinations.

A key factor to be considered in selection-making is the stable, and the trainer-jockey combination. The Wizard weekly "winningest" trainer report is a valuable guide as to which stable/trainer and jockey-trainer combination is currently in form.

Jockeys Most Successful with the Stable

Brad has a record of success with both established and younger riders. Christian Reith has long been part of the stable's success, and rode Brad's first ever winner, Junglized at Canberra in 2017, and was aboard both Afloat and Tequisoda when Brad sealed his first Hawkesbury trainers' premiership. Other jockeys who have delivered for the stable over the past two years include Tyler Schiller, Alysha Collett, and Tommy Berry. Major Wins and Training Record

Since saddling his first winner in 2017, Brad has trained around 400 winners, and that includes multiple Group and Listed race winners. Brad's breakthrough performer was Icebath who won The Invitation in 2021 (worth $2 million at the time) and the 2022 Group 1 Empire Rose Stakes at Flemington when ridden by Craig Williams. In the current 2025-2026 season Brad ranks 13th in the NSW Overall Trainer Premiership, and 2nd in the Provincial Premiership, with a provincial strike rate of 15.6%.

Training, Preparation and Horse Placement

Brad's operation emphasises horse welfare and sports science. The availability of his Fernleigh spelling and rehabilitation facility allows for a planned program in which horses cycle between intense preparation and managed rest and recovery, which improves horse longevity and consistency. Early life and racing background

Andrew was born into a household prominent in the Victorian racing scene. He began race riding in the early 2000s and rode his first winner at Hay in country New South Wales. Andrew is part of one of Australia's bestknown racing dynasties, with multiple generations involved in the sport. His grandfather Mick Mallyon was a topclass jockey who won the Caulfield Cup three times. Andrew's father Brett Mallyon rode successfully and later trained, and Andrew was initially apprenticed to him. For much of his career, Andrew was based in Victoria, riding extensively on the Melbourne metropolitan and provincial circuits. In September 2019 he made a pivotal move, relocating from Victoria to Queensland after discussions with leading trainer Kris Lees about opportunities in the Sunshine State. Andrew's apprenticeship and early career were shaped by several prominent trainers. He was apprenticed at various times to his father Brett, and then to trainers Tony McEvoy, Mathew Ellerton and Simon Zahra, and also worked with David Hayes. Since settling in Queensland, he has ridden extensively for the Matthew Dunn stable, and his strike rate when riding this stable's favourites is currently better than 45%. Major wins and career milestones

One of Andrew's key milestones was reaching 1,000 career winners in July 2021, achieved with a victory at Ipswich, seventeen years after his first success at Hay. Pierre Boudvillain is a French-born jockey who is currently the leading rider on the New South Wales country circuit, having emerged only recently from relative obscurity.

Early life and racing background

Pierre began his career in France and the Caribbean before moving to Australia around ten years ago. On arrival in Australia he was unable to obtain a jockey's licence because of visa issues, which forced him to spend several years riding trackwork rather than competing in races. During this period he rode work for trainers such as Chris Waller and Gwenda Markwell. Pierre finally secured his jockey's licence and made his Australian race-riding debut in 2023 with a winning ride on Cambridge Rules for Neil Osborne at Bombala. Since then, he has built his career primarily through the New South Wales country circuit. Pierre has settled in Australia with his partner Nellia with their two sons and has a longterm commitment to living and riding in New South Wales.

Pierre's rise has centred on the New South Wales country and provincial circuits, rather than in the metropolitan Sydney ranks. He has ridden extensively "all over NSW," amassing more than 500 rides in a single season and earning a reputation for being willing to travel wherever good opportunities present themselves. Pierre breakout has come through strong relationships with several trainers. He has developed a notably productive association with trainer Danielle Seib, for whom he has ridden more than thirty winners over the past two years. His link with trainers Gratz Vella  and Scott Collins have also been significant, yielding winners and providing him with rides in feature races such as the Black Opal Stakes and the Golden Slipper with Music Time.

These connections have helped Pierre outpace his rivals in the 2025-2026 NSW Country Jockey Premiership, at the time of writing sitting on 118 wins and a strike rate of 18.4%. He has also partnered effectively with the Barbara Joseph & Jones training team. Pierre's most important win to date was his Group 3 victory aboard Music Time in the 2026 Black Opal Stakes in Canberra, his first stakes success in Australia. That performance prompted the owners to pay a late entry fee of A$150,000 to run the filly in the $5 million Group 1 Golden Slipper at Rosehill, where Pierre partnered her to a thirdplace finish and a cheque of about $425,000. By contesting the Golden Slipper, he became the first longterm licensed French jockey to ride in an Australian Group 1. Wizard Freebie - Wizard What-IF Report

The Wizard What-IF report has more than one application. It can help to identify the horse/s best suited in a race and possessing the more reliable form. Also, it can help to differentiate between races that represent a positive betting opportunity from those whose fields are below par in terms of the revealed form. The What-IF report is available with the first upload of Wizard's race files and is then updated on race morning

The What-IF report profiles the six top rated Wizard WRat runners in each race. The data in the report shows the record of each horse when it started at 10/1 or less, and/or won at longer odds, in a race in the distance range.

In terms of horse suitability, What-IF focuses on fitness and form. It does this through indicators that are relevant to these form factors. With respect to reliability, included in the FITNESS FORM category are each runner's Wizard Filter and Negatives scores. As these scores are determined by the record of the horse when running under similar conditions, they are a particularly relevant indicator of how well, and how consistently, it has performed over time. The higher the number, the better the score, with a Filter score of +7 being a genuinely positive assessment in terms of runner reliability.

The lower section of the What-IF report addresses the issue of uncertainty, by considering a range of "unknown" factors, and how versatile the runner is, and how adaptable it is likely to be under different race conditions.

For selective bettors a suggested approach is to concentrate on those races where one of the top two WRat runners has a Filter score of +7 or more and the other has a score of zero or better (not negative). This approach means the focus is on only those races where the top two rated runners are assessed as suitably placed and reliable. This approach aims to reduce the degree of risk and uncertainty when choosing races as possible wagering opportunities and deciding on final selections.
