Jockey & Trainer combinations (Emily Lang)
Emily Lang is an apprentice jockey riding in Queensland, who is already making a name for herself. From an early age she has had a close association with horses, growing up competing in show jumping and eventing.
In terms of thoroughbred racing, initially Emily spent some time with the Matthew Smith stable in Sydney before heading north to work for Chris Munce at Eagle Farm. Her career as an apprentice jockey has been significantly influenced by several trainers including Barry Baldwin, Chris Munce, and the training partnership of Steven O'Dea and Matthew Hoysted to whom she is apprenticed.
Currently Emily is the leading rider in the 2023-2024 Queensland Provincial Jockey Premiership with 77 winners at a strike rate of 17.5%. Given that Emily can still claim 3kg in the metropolitan area that is an impressive achievement.
Highlights:
Her debut meeting was remarkable as she recorded a prefect 5 wins from 5 rides at Warwick.
Multiple successes in the 2023 National Apprentice Race Series (NARS).

Trainer & Jockey combinations for (Stephen Massingham)
Stephen Massingham is a Queensland trainer based in Cairns. His late father, Wayne Massingham, was a trainer and Stephen learned much from a close association with his stable.
Stephen's training career began in 2009. Over the years, he has established himself as a successful trainer on the Queensland Country Circuit, and he is currently ranked 6th in the state-wide Country Premiership with 30 winners, and has an impressive strike rate of 25%.
Undoubtedly one of Stephen's most notable horses was The Harrovian. Purchased as a tried horse from Victoria, The Harrovian had his first start for the stable when he won first-up at Cairns on 16 March 2019. Then, between 23 May 2019 and 26 December 2020 he won 13 from 14 starts, 11 of those in succession; and that run ended with four metropolitan wins in Brisbane. That performance is a testament to the training ability of Stephen Massingham.
