Jockey & Trainer combinations (Justin Potter)
Justin Potter is a S.A. jockey based in Strathalbyn. In his earlier days Justin was a rodeo rider. Now, at the age of 47 he is one of the most experienced riders in that state having ridden more than 1,200 winners over his more than 20 years in the saddle. Currently, Justin sits 13th in the 2023-2024 S.A. Jockey Premiership on 39 wins and with a strike rate of 9.7%.
Noteworthy is the fact that Justin is now a dual-licensee having taken out a trainers' Licence. So far he has saddled up three runners and had his first winner, Sun Flipper, at Murray Bridge on January 1 this year. He rode the horse as well. That called for a double celebration!

Trainer & Jockey combinations for (Dan Clarken and Oopy MacGillivray)
Dan Clarken and Oopy MacGillivray have been training in partnership since 2017. The partnership trains from a 400-acre property near the Murray Bridge racetrack. Though the stable might not be one of the larger or most high-profile stables in South Australia, it has consistently produced winners, particularly younger horses, from its small team.
When training as an individual licensee Dan's most famous success came with Miracles Of Life, who won the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes in 2013. There has been more recent Stakes success for the partnership with the wins of Mileva (Monash Stakes, and others), Harleymoven (Port Adelaide Guineas), and The Map (JRA Plate, and the Andrew Ramsden Stakes at Flemington which grants the winner a ballot exemption into the 2024 Group 1 Melbourne Cup in November).
The partnership currently sits 14th in the S.A. Trainers Premiership with 22 wins and a with a strike rate of 25.5%. A very commendable result.
