Trainer & Jockey combinations and profile (Clint Lundholm)
Clint Lundholm is based in Dubbo where his stable has some 40 boxes. His family has a racing background, with his grandfather, John Lundholm, being a very prominent Western Districts trainer, and his father being successful as well. He began riding at 15 and within 18 months had ridden 100 winners. He began his apprenticeship with his grandfather and went on to work at the Gai Waterhouse stables. However, despite his success his actual riding career lasted only about three years.
Like many other aspiring jockeys, increasing weight became a problem and so he turned his sights to training. In the early days his father, John Jnr, assisted Clint with establishing the stable. He trained his first winner, Relentless Lad, in 2012.
There is no doubt that Clint and his team work hard and travel extensively to give their horses every chance of success. This effort is rewarded by reference to his currently ranking 7th in the 2023-24 NSW Country Premiership behind trainers of much bigger teams, such as Annabel Neasham and Kris Lees. So far this season he has trained 43 winners on the country circuit. The stable has also enjoyed success in the city with Smooth Esprit winning a Highway Handicap at Rosehill with Kerrin McEvoy in the saddle.

The Wizard Ratings Results report includes the results of the top-two rated Wrat runners. This information should provide a better guide to those subscribers who are interested in backing two runners in a race (where odds are acceptable) or anchor two runners for multiples etc. (Note: Over the long term the top-two Wrat runners have won around 43% to 46%, and the top rated runner 25% to 27%, of races on a seasonal basis)
