Wizard Wrat4-AOdds - odds comparison - are early odds a guide?
One of the quandaries race-morning bettors face is the uncertainty about the odds that might be available about possible selections if they need to place their bets some time before betting opens on the race/s under consideration.
The new Wrat4-AOdds (11:00am report) lists the average (Wizard-adjusted) odds offered by leading wagering operators around 10:30am. Can you use these odds as a guide when deciding whether to bet or pass on a runner?
To give you an idea of the closeness of the Wizard-EOdds and what is being offered by bookmakers around 10 minutes before races start time the Wrat4-AOdds report for Warrnambool from yesterday is printed below.
To provide a comparison an extra column has been added (10 minutes) which shows the odds that were available with 10 minutes remaining before race start time yesterday.
As you can see from this example, which is representative of all meetings checked, there is a definite similarity between both sets of odds. This is very useful to know if you are inclined to bet for value and/or bet more than one runner in a race and need some way to determine the size of the appropriate stake for each runner to be bet.
