Wizard MATRIX report SELECTIVES achieve 55.6% strike rate last week
The Wizard MATRIX report was introduced to subscribers late December last year. Matrix was structured in such a way as to provide users with multiple elements that could be incorporated into each users own selection strategy.
When doing this I sought to integrate what I consider to be three crucial components of a winner-finding methodology. So, what Matrix does is integrate ratings, form, and prepost market information. First, this was done by adding the Raceday, Watch, and Magic qualifiers, the Wizard Rating (Wrat 100), and market data. Then, secondly, use this information to derive an overall rating for each runner, the MaxR rating.
What quickly became apparent was the potential of this approach. Right from the start of Matrix operations it was evident that Matrix, itself, could potentially provide an answer to the issue that dogs every punter: How to fine down the number of betting options to a realistic number of soundly-based selections. Betting on every race is a non-starter; unprofessional and unprofitable.
Whilst monitoring the performance of Matrix for the first three months (involving more than 4,000 races) I noted the remarkable consistency of results when selection options were limited to horses that were top rated AND a qualifier from the Wizards other special reports (in particular, Raceday [market] and Magic [trainers]). This gave rise to my recent post suggesting one possible approach to limiting selections could be to use the Selective Combinations that could be found in Matrix.
These included:
Wrat 100 or MaxR 100 when the horse was also a qualifier from at least two of the three Raceday, Watch, and Magic.
Wrat 100 or MaxR 100 when the horse is also a Raceday qualifier.
Wrat 100 or MaxR 100 when the horse is also a Magic qualifier.
Wrat 100 or MaxR 100 when the horse is also a Raceday AND a Magic qualifier.
The following table shows the results of applying these Selective approaches to Australian races over the last 15 weeks.

Last week was representative. The win strike rates varied from a low of 44.4% (Wrat 100/Raceday), to 55.6% (Wrat 100/Magic) and 55.6% (Raceday, Watch, Magic.)
So far, all the suggested Matrix Selective combinations are clearly outperforming the traditional ratings approaches and this is very encouraging.
Wizard Ratings, Raceday, and Matrix results and Weekly Summary
We publish these full results daily so that subscribers can see the results of the Wizard's ratings options, and Report-content, and thereby formulate a selecting and betting strategy that suits them individually. The Wizard ratings should not be seen as "tips", rather as objective assessments that can be used to inform one's own judgement as to the relative chances of the runners in a race.
