Matrix 64.7% strike rate yesterday highlights out-performing sub-set

I have always recognized the importance of making Wizard's content deliver the best possible strike rates and selection consistency, for all users. This has been the case since the Wizard first appeared as a newspaper formguide in 1988, and the re-development of the Online content over the last two years has given me the opportunity to further pursue this goal.

The major development that has occurred with the new online Wizard is the addition of special-purpose reports. These reports, especially Raceday-Watch-Essentials-Matrix, aim to make winner finding more reliable and easier to do than ever before.

To this end, I use colour-coding in the reports to highlight key details.

Take Matrix as an example.

A while ago I started to colour-code some MaxR 100 pointers. The reason for doing this was to highlight the MaxR 100 pointers whose race-morning odds had shortened (over-night or early am) by 3% or more. (Note: In the Matrix report the runners that have shortened by 3% or more were earlier asterisked [*] and colour-coded to highlight that fact.)

Here are a couple of Matrix report races from yesterday's Hawkesbury meeting.

Yesterday these colour-coded MaxR 100 pointers were successful in 11 of the 17 races so highlighted. Now, I readily concede this 64.7% strike rate is an outlier, but noting its achievement does give me the opportunity to point out that these highlighted runners have actually outperformed both Wrat 100 pointers and all MaxR 100 pointers since the Matrix report was released last December.

I have pointed out before that the MaxR 100 pointers have a higher strike rate than Wrat 100 pointers, by some 20%, and the table above shows that the Matrix 100 pointers that are also an asterisked EOam runner actually do better than the MaxR 100 pointers overall. Another Wizard sub-set that I would suggest is worth noting.

Also worth noting is the fact that this Matrix highlighting (*EOam and MaxR) identified Full Hao in race 3 as likely to outperform its assessment as the 4th top rated Wrat runner. It won.

Wizard Ratings, Raceday, Matrix, and Selectives Results

We publish these full results daily so that subscribers can see the results of the Wizard's ratings options, and Report-content, and thereby formulate a selecting and betting strategy that suits them individually. The Wizard ratings should not be seen as "tips", rather as objective assessments that can be used to inform one's own judgement as to the relative chances of the runners in a race.

The full day-by-day results for Wizard (Wrat) top 4 rated runners, the Raceday Qualifier, and the Matrix (MaxR) 100 pointer and the MaxR top-two this week so far. The (4 weeks) column shows the results for the four weeks prior to the current week and the 2023-2024 column shows the WRat results for the full 2023-2024 racing season. This results summary is colour coded so that it is easier for readers to track the relative performance of the Top Rated (blue) and Top-Two Rated (green) ratings options on a daily, and longer term, basis.
