Using Wizard Reports - Wizard Essentials: Fining down the field.
One of the most discussed topics among race handicappers is the need to fine down a field to the main chances so that (form-analysis) attention can be focused on those runners with the best chance of success.
The Wizard Essentials Wrat4 Report is specifically designed to help in this regard.
Historically, the Wizards top 4 rated runners (the Wrat rating) win some 70% of all races run. The winners not included in the top 4 Wrat are most likely to be first time starters, horses in the market but not rating on current form, and horses at long odds that simply do not have acceptable revealed form
The stats contained in the Essentials single data line is a great starting point to evaluate their chances.
By focusing on a limited number of runners in what you consider to be the beatable and bettable races you give yourself time to delve deeper into the form history of these four main chances using the great interactive form-analysis tools offered by Wizard:
